| Step out in to the pub car
park for the first of three light-hearted competitions, where
TRs will be judged for overall presentation. A trophy will be
awarded to the winner at the end of the year. Don't worry, this
is not a concours event and originality is not of prime importance. |

Crawley Classic and American Car Show

| New event for the SDG. Situated
at the Southgate playing fields at Crawley, with gates opening
at 9am with the town's carnival occuring later on in the day.
Entry is free. Interested? Then contact Chris Worsfold asap
as closing date for this show is the 1st May. |

Circuit Histrique de Leon |
 |
| Leon is about 140 miles south
of Calais. Classics from all over Europe attend this meeting,
including about 150 from the UK. Official start and signing
on at 14.00 hrs on Saturday for a regional tour. Saturday evening
optional Dinner & Dance with live music. Sunday morning
the town is closed to all traffic except classic cars and it
is amass with spectators for the street circuit - a mixture
of high street, hill climbs and hairpin bends. This is not
a competitive event, so no experience necessary for this good
fun laid back weekend. £139 per person to include
return ferry, entry fee, and modern hotel with en suite B/B. |

Bexhill Classic Car Show |
 |
| The Bexhill 100 as we knew
and enjoyed it as a local group for many years has sadly been
removed from the calendar as it was just becoming too expensive
to run in its old format. However the organisers are keen to
replace it with another static show focusing on making the cars
the stars. As yet we have still to hear further details of the
date but we will keep you posted. |

Kent Weekender |
 |
| Organised by our neighbouring
TR register group, from the town of Sandwich. Saturday consists
of a choice of an informal tour of a local area or treasure
hunt in the nearby village finishing with a disco. The Dutch
often attend this event and we believe are actually organising
the official Sunday tour this year so it should be interesting.
Camping is avaialable if you are interested please contact Alan

The 2003 Concours and Classic Car Show |
 |
| Organised by the Brighton and
Hove Motor Club, this car show is situated in the superb venue
of Stanmer Park, Brighton. This beautiful park, complete with
restaurant/café, museum and working farm, offers a rare opportunity
to show your car in lovely rural surroundings. Entry is free
to the public so the organisers do ask for a £5.00 admin fee
per car to cover the running costs and a souvenir plaque. For
an entry form please contact Chris Worsfold. Closing date is
early June.

| July - Sunday 6th |
Mid-Summer Saunter |
 |
| Starting at the Five Bells,
Chailey, at 10 am: A picturesque morning drive through the lanes
of East Sussex, lunch at an unusual village pub, and, in the
afternoon, a conducted tour of Filching Manor Motor Museum,
by the owner, Paul Foulkes Halbard. Then you are free to picnic
on the lawns, and, at 5 pm, Paul will inspect the cars and an
award will be presented to the owner of the car he would most
like to retain for his collection! £6 per car and driver,
plus £3 per passenger (price includes entrance fee to

Argus Summer Motor Show |
 |
| Situated at Brighton Racecourse,
the emphasis on the Sunday is Classics. There are a variety
of stalls and entertainment organised throughout the day. The
theme this year is 'A day at the Races'. There are prizes awarded
for overall best theme entry, best car of the day and best club
stand. We have to be there for 9am.There is no charge for
entry and all you have to do is let Chris Worsfold know how
many passes you require by the 31st May as there is a club entry
form. |

Ardingly Vintage Vehicle Show |

| The Ardingly Vintage Vehicle
Show is jointly organised by the Horsham Historics and the Morris
Register and has many classes of vehicles including steam traction
engines, veteran, vintage and classic cars, caravans, motorcycles,
fire engines, commercials, tractors and machinery. As well as
direct entries in main enclosures there are many separate car
club stands, trade stalls including autojumble and the famous
CAMRA sponsored beer tent. For an entry form please contact
Chris Worsfold. Closing date is early on in May. There may be
a smal admin fee. |

Friday-Ad Motors Show
at Bentley Motor Museum |

| This show takes place at the
Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum near Halland. The emphasis
being on showing new cars with old. There are many stalls including
a craft tents and autojumble, as well as huge amount of family
entertainment. You will also have the opportunity to visit the
museum and see the huge range of birds. Again there is no
charge for this event however there is a requirement to enter
as a club. So names and details to Chris Worsfold asap. |

TR International Weekend |

| Why not come and join your
fellow SDG members at the annual TR Register event? Situated
under the Malvern Hills there is plenty to do for everyone including
autojumble, treasure hunts, runs, and even some shopping trips
for the ladies. There are plenty of bed and breakfast hotels
nearby for those of you who aren't keen on camping, but those
of you who are intending to 'rough it' for a few nights why
not make your way to the SDG campsite in the quiet zone? We
will be waiting for you. Look out for further details in
the TR Action. |

Amberley Classic Car Summer Picnic |
 |
| For those of you who can't
make it to the International there is an event closer to home.
Set in the grounds of the Amberley Chalk pits museum (you know
-the one made famous by a James Bond film). This event allows
you to park within the grounds and wonder all around the exhibits
spread over a wide area. Entrance fee is £5.00 per car, forms
can be obtained from Chris Worsfold. Closing date is the 30th
June.

MG Weekender Event |

| We have been invited by the
East Sussex MG owners group to attend their Country Weekender
this year. Although the weather let the show down last year
we did come away with a trophy and a chance to have a go in
their 'gymcana'. If anyone is interested then let us know asap
- it is taking place this year at Plumpton Racecourse. |

Battle Abbey |
 |
| This is one of the firm favourites
in the SDG calendar. Set in the beautiful grounds of Battle
Abbey with live music and a variety of stalls raising money
for charity. The classic cars are invited to take part in a
parade down the main Battle High Street at the start of the
show before taking pride of place in amongst the grounds. It
is a great chance to see one of the English Heritage's historic
sights as well as the picturesque town. There is a £2.00
administration fee with your individual entry form, which needs
to be sent to the organisers by 21st June. |

Hellingly Festival of Transport |
 |
| Organised by the Eastbourne
Historic Vehicle Club this show is aimed at all types of transport
vehicles including steam traction engines, bikes, buses and
classic cars. There is always a huge number of stalls including
autojumble stands with a full arena programme over the three
days. As the rally is very popular you will need to reserve
your place early. Camping is available. Those interested
can obtain a entry form from Chris Worsfold with the closing
date being early on in July. There is no charge for this event. |

Shoreham AirShow |
 |
| Organised to raise money for
the RAF association this show combines classic cars and an airshow
of both modern and classic aircraft. There are a huge variety
of stalls, a funfair as well as number of planned events. We
need to enter as a club so names need to be forwarded onto Chris
Worsfold by the end of July. There is a requirement for an £8
donation that will cover entry for your car plus 3 passengers
for both days. |

Kent Group's Autumn Leaves Rally |

| We are invited to join the
Kent Group for their rally starting from the Ramada Hotel Hollingbourne
(formerly the Great Danes Hotel), at 10.30. Cars leave at about
one minute intervals and head towards Tonbridge. After lunch
(cost not covered by Register funds), the return to the Great
Danes Hotel will be by an alternative route. There will be several
prizes awarded on the day. If you would like to join the
rally, RSVP Maxwell on 07885 488826 as soon as possible so that
enough route books can be printed. |

| Join us on the Green at Staplefield
(near Haywards Heath) from 8:00am onwards to greet (and meet)
the competitors of this historic event. Roy Hunnisett has
kindly agreed to bring along his barbecue equipment so all you
need to remember is your own grub. Wrap up warm. See you
