On
Sunday some of the group chose to follow the tour route through
the Ardennes, some to meet up with the Belgian TR group, and
others to do both!
Here's Phil's TR6, on the tour, overlooking Frahan. |
|
The
scenery was breathtaking.
No TRs plunged over ravines, although one couple ended up
coming to the aid of a car that really had crashed through
the barrier and was teetering on the edge. |
|
| The
route followed the Meuse as it wound its way through wooded
valleys
|
|
|
The
sleepy town of Montherme marked the end of our tour.... |
|
|
...its
houses and bars hugging the river valley. |
|
|
Leaving
Montherme, we retraced our route, stopping to savour the highlights,
before returning to Sedan to dine with about 20 other 'raconteurs'. |
|
|
On
Monday the group headed back to Calais.
Some did the outward route in reverse and revisited Arras.
Others followed the Meuse in an impromptu tour, taking in
the spectacular Belgian town of Dinant.
A few sampled the Belgian motorways in order to detour to
the enchanting medieval city of Bruges. |
|
Then
it was back to the 'white cliffs' and a less exciting week
ahead!
